Homero’s is the original campgrounds of Potrero Chico, established in 1987. Once pioneering climbing luxury with room rentals, an in-ground pool, and a large gym-like room with outdoor patio. The large room features a small bouldering wall. A huge yard offers unlimited camping.
Homero’s is a more relaxed campground with less amenities and maintenance than some of the other locations but with more freedoms. Its cheapness comes with fewer services but the place is still far more convenient than camping in the canyon. Outdoor sinks, several gas stoves, a fridge, showers, and bathrooms provide all the basic services to climbers. They also have a pool, grill, and wifi.
This campground tends to be more popular with the local Mexican climbing crowd, Potrero Chico veterans, and high-season overflow. During the weekend the best parties can often be found here.
Note: the entrance to Homero’s has moved. It used to be directly across from La Posada but is now the next road up, towards the Potrero, on the right. Drive down the dirt road 100 ft (30 meters) and pull into red gate. See attached image with arrow.
